As a college student I am quite familiar with the decisions that must be made post-high school. It seems that many young adults become more indecisive in their sophomore year of college. Whether they reconsider their major, choose their first one, or re-evaluate the college they are enrolled in, a personal reflection and educational inventory is in order.
Career Vision, a website designed to aid in career changes, calls this phenomena the "sophomore panic." Throughout high school youth are encouraged to investigate their job options. Career fairs offer networking opportunities and vocational classes offer experiential learning in certain fields. However, in high school there is little pressure realistically. If you decide to be an astronaut one week and a cosmetologist the next, your life continues just as it had before. Once in college the decisions you make directly affect the classes you take and in some cases the tuition you pay.
